Children will leave The Meads with a great interest for French and will have made substantial progress in the language. Children will receive an MFL curriculum which provides a balance of spoken and written language to allow them to have a stronger foundation for further language learning in KS3. The curriculum will nourish children’s curiosity, deepen their understanding of the world and provide an opening to other cultures.

Speaking and Listening:

Children will understand and communicate their ideas, facts and feelings verbally. They will listen to spoken language and respond actively. They will speak in sentences and present ideas and information orally.

Writing:

Children will learn to write simple phrases from memory or create their own.
