Firstly, we would like to thank all of our families for your continued support over the past week. The decision to close the school was an extremely difficult one, and it has been wonderful how the children have been completing their work on Google Classroom and meeting with their class teachers via Google Meet or Zoom.
We are writing to you to inform you that the school will reopen for pupils on Wednesday 9th December 2020. Only those children whose classes are not required to self-isolate can return on this date. We look forward to the other classes returning when their self-isolation periods end.
This week, I attended a phone meeting with Public Health England and they have asked me to remind our families about social distancing guidelines to ensure that bubbles are not mixing outside of school. As always, our school staff will be adhering to social distancing guidelines with both staff and children.
Public Health England have also asked the school to request that parents/carers whose children are unwell, no matter what the symptoms, are not being sent to school and the child is tested to ensure they do not have COVID-19 or self-isolates for 14 days. This will ensure that the risk of COVID-19 being brought into the school either by someone who is asymptomatic or with different symptoms is reduced significantly.
We look forward to seeing the children all return to school, and would like to say a huge well done to all of the children for engaging in their work over the past week. We are all so proud of all of the children.
