Please pass to your Parent Carers or anyone you feel could benefit from coming along. (Senco's, TA's etc all welcome too!) There is lots of information available and plenty of parent to parent support, children are welcome and it is just a drop in event.

Activities to do with the family

Active Sussex:

  • Parallel Youth Games: A multi-sport participation event for disabled children in Sussex. The 2018 Games is due to take place at K2, Crawley on Wednesday 23 May. 300+ children will take part in Boccia, New Age Kurling, Tennis, Cricket, Dance, Golf and Swimming. Find out more.
  • Sussex School Games: A ‘mini-Olympics & Paralympics’, giving Sussex schoolchildren the chance to participate in competitive school sport at county level across multiple sport disciplines. Find out more.
  • Sussex Sports Awards: The Sussex Sports Awards is one of the most prestigious sporting events in the Sussex sporting calendar. Individuals and organisations come together to celebrate their achievements over the last 12-months, at a sporting celebration like no other. Find out more.

The Lion King: Autism Friendly Performance

Tickets are now on sale for the fifth dedicated autism-friendly performance of Disney’s The Lion King. Partnering with The National Autistic Society, the team at the Lyceum Theatre create a friendly and supportive environment to enjoy London’s landmark musical. These specially adapted performance are suitable for autistic people, with trained staff on hand and dedicated quiet and activity areas made available should anyone need to leave their seats. Story Magic

Join a multi-sensory story time session specially for children and young people with additional needs. Vivid sensory stories particularly suited to children with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) or visual impairment. View more here.

Little PACSO

Sessions for pre-schoolers with disabilities held at Chichester Nursery School and at Tree House Children and Families Centre in Bognor. Children play together & make friends. Parents can chat & receive support from a team of professionals. View more here.

Mad about football? Check out Albion in the Community regular sessions on Saturdays. The sessions are inclusive and open to anyone with a disability who wants to play regular football. Our qualified coaches make sure all the players are given the opportunity to experience the many benefits of taking part in regular sport. The sessions welcome all players including; Amputee, Autism (ASD), Partially sighted, Cerebral palsy (CP), Deaf and hearing impairments, Down’s Syndrome, Learning difficulty/disability (ADD/ADHD/Dyslexia/Dyspraxia/Others), Mental health and Speech and language disorders.

Reaching Higher Horsham

All our sports and art sessions are led by qualified and experienced sports coaches or arts practitioners, and supported by experienced support workers and volunteers trained in first aid, medication administration, disability awareness and personal care. We currently offer the following term time activities: Dance, Trampolining, Table Tennis, Badminton, Athletics, Rebound Therapy, Cricket, Wheelchair Basketball, Percussion, DJ'ing, Archery and Video Production. ADHD Richmond

We’re a voluntary, independent, non-funded, parent/carer support group for the neuro-developmental condition Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder & all its comorbidities. Reaching Families is a parent-carer led charity established to "empower, inform and care for parents and families of children with special needs and disabilities in West Sussex." We achieve this by the delivery of information, training and support groups to parent-carers.
